REAL/Easy Version 14.3 as an Upgrade to Versions 12 through 14.2
If you are
Upgrading to REAL/Easy Version 14.3 from a previous version of REAL/Easy
BOS and/of FOS, follow these instructions. If you are installing Version
14.3 as a new system, these steps are not necessary – just follow the
instructions in the “Installation” booklet.

[___] Make sure there are no users in BOS or
FOS at any time during the following setup steps.

[___] Back Up Server’s \BOS folder including
all sub directories (this will backup the existing software and your
data).

[___] Install update with 14.3 CD Setup.exe.
Install to the server’s …\BOS folder (examples: C:\BOS or D:\apps\BOS
or N:\Accounting\Apps\BOS ). Select the “Install REAL/Easy” option
when the REAL\Easy Software install menu appears:

[___] During this install you will be asked to
“Rebuild” your database – you must do this (do not skip the
rebuild). When the setup is complete, click Finish and close all
install windows and remove the REAL/Easy CD.

[___] Shut Down your Server and then ReStart –
this will insure that all new software, database, and report drivers
are configured.

[___] On Server, start the BOS system and
login as the Administrator (Admin).

[___] On Server, run the above Tools commands
(Update Listing Contacts, Update Transaction Contacts, and Reset
Transaction Offices.

[___] Exit BOS, do another data backup, system
is ready.
Note: If you
are running REAL/Easy BOS on a standalone PC, do the above steps as if
the PC is the “Server”.
Note: If you
are running the BOS/FOS database in another folder than ..\BOS\DATA..
you will have to do the following additional steps after the 8 steps
above:

On the
Server, go to Start ->Programs->Realeasy-> Switch Company – to
re-point to the live database path.

On the
Server, go to Start ->Programs->Realeasy-> Database Rebuild –
note that the rebuild is pointing to the correct path.

Do
steps 6 through 8 above.
